Freddy was X-rayed by a veterinary orthopedic with result and grading:
shoulders free, hips A/A and elbows 0/0 ( 0/1). We have to wait for the
official results from EKL for couple of weeks.
09-10.12 - Christmas
shopping and Finnish Winner 06 in Helsinki.
45 RRs were entered and the
judge was Mr Harri Lehkonen from Finland. Shows are never boring with Freddy -
my special boy did his “own special things” again (jumping and fooling) and we
ended up with blue ribbon, what means “good”. Freddy`s critique was all good,
just “needs more show training” was mentioned twice. So it`s all about me and my
handling not Freddy :D
Beautiful Lotta did well as usual – was 2nd in CH bitches and finally Best Bitch
2 with Res-CACIB. What a girl!
Thank you Kadri for good company, next time we`ll take Nessa with us, right :D
10.11 -
World Winner 2006 in
Poznan, Poland – this was our first WW show, needless to say we really
enjoyed our time in Poland, despite the long road-trip and crazy traffic;)
Professional handling is the key to success at shows with huge breed entries,
like the World Winner Show, where judges having few time to make their
selections. I didn`t send my Freddy to the ring with professionals (I never done
it before), I handled him myself. This time we didn`t get anything from the
Slovakian judge, except his warm hand-shake;) Was this because of my
unprofessional handling or Freddy`s Australian breed type, what is a bit
different from types what we use to see in Europe - who knows and cares;) It was
such an amazing experience to be there in that atmosphere. To see so many RRs
and meet so enthusiastic RR breeders, wow!
It still would have been interesting to see how Lotta would have placed in the
ring under the Portuguese judge, sweet Lotta stayed home this time - puppies
first :D
04.11 - I and Freddy
were at the CACIB show in Tartu, 14 RRs were entered and the judge was
Mrs Steffi Kirschbichler from Austria.
Showing Freddy has been a challenge for me, sometimes he shows so well for me
and sometimes not – funny, he is always very motivated and work-oriented in the
trainings. Well, today we once again had this day when our teenager wasn`t in
show mood, he was interested only of other dogs (girls, girls ...) and nice
smells, and last but not least the show was held inside on a carpet. Weird, but
the dark grey carpet was the scariest of all for our boy. Freddy let the judge
to touch him and moved well (he has always been a perfect mover), but didn`t
stand, he looked unhappy and wanted to go away from this scary carpet.
Fortunately Freddy is rather balanced dog and so I let him stand like he is and
didn`t force him. The judge liked our “brave lionheart” and Freddy went Best
Junior in Breed. And so we had to take part of the Best Male competition as
well, for my big surprise it went all good – Freddy, the youngest dog in this
competition, was a bit braver, wanted to flirt to other males and finally placed
as the 3rd best male leaving some nice and titled dogs behind his back.
After the show I found a place where to practice with Freddy, happy to say that
Freddy understood that carpets are our friends, even the gray ones :D
Freddy`s lovely critique: nice size, harmonious body, extra nice head,
excellent eyes and ears, extra good pigment, very nice ridge, nice angulations,
very nice ribcage, harmonious movements
Super congrats to Marian and Freddy`s one and only bosom friend dachshund-Milka
for BOB Puppy. Big congrats to Kadri and Nessa, Nessa was great at her very
first show.
15.10 -
Bloodtracking
trial organized in Mooste by the Club of Estonian Hunting Dogs. The test was
divided into three parts - basic obedience, gun shoot and bloodtracking 500m/3
hours. Judges: Mr Roman Peil and Mr Elmar Lurich.
After only a few days of training, Freddy and Lotta never did a bloodtrack
before, they both showed me great potential.
1. basic obedience
both Freddy and Lotta passed this part with flying colors
2. gun shoot
Freddy is absolutely gun shoot proof, Lotta showed a little reaction, but
not too much, so both Freddy and Lotta passed this part as well.
3. bloodtracking
Freddy found the scent, tracked fast holding his head down, after about
100 m he lost the scent, but found it himself very fast again, Freddy went so
fast the judges and I could hardly keep up with him, needless to say Freddy
found the deer. I can be so proud of my Freddy-boy, even the judge was
amazed at Freddy`s fast „work“, the boy just turned 13 months after all!
Lotta found the scent, but after about 50 m she lost it, she went from
left to right, head held high and enjoyed everything interesting she could
smell, the judges asked me to stop and they put us back on the track. Lotta was
tracking something all right, but unfortunately it wasn't the bloodtrack and the
judges asked me to stop again and put us back on the track. But we lost it again
and the third time means a zero. So, Lotta didn`t pass the test. It was a bit
disappointment to me, because Lotta has proven to be a very good hunting dog.
However, I gave Lotta a big hug, we just have to train more ....
Thank you Marian and
Valka for great company, it is always pleasure to travel with you;) and a big
congratulations on Tessi`s and Happy`s superb results.

September
14th-27th, 2006 – Chezh, Slovenia, Italy, Slovak
Once again, we packed our car and headed down to the South. After passing
Latvia, Lithuania and Poland we arrived in our first show place in Chezh. The
Chezh RR Specialty with tricky judges was held in mountains of Svojanov, RR
entry was over 160.
Orit Nevo (Israel) RICH RACH RRs liked our Lotta and Freddy and they both gained
“excellent”, Janet Wang (RSA) NOMVYUYO RRs found some very strange faults in my
dogs, Lotta still gained “excellent”, but Freddy “very good”, my performance
with Freddy wasn`t the best either.
After 2 days in Chezc we headed through Austria to Slovenia, where we visited a
magical Postonja cave. The cave is over 20 km long, full of the stalactites
hanging from the ceiling, the stalagmites growing up from the floor. We saw the
biggest Slovenian endemic cave animal (it is the biggest European vertebrate
cave animal too) the Proteus Anguinus as well. After Postonja we drove to
Trieste, Italy, to look for the sun. We spent 4 days in hot Italy (over +30
deg), by tanning and swimming in blue Adriatic sea.
On Friday we headed up to Slovenia again to take part of Maribor CACIB, RR were
judged by Mr Michael Forte from Ireland. It was a headache to find the show
ground (despite we had a GPS system in our car), finally some friendly Slovenian
policemen escorted us to the show place. Seemed that Italian sun did well to my
doggies, Freddy showed well and despite he looked after
a
1,5 week`s hunger strike
like an African famine victim, he still gained “excellent” and was the second in
his class. Lotta won CH females in very tough competition (over Australian
import
from Germany). Lotta went also BB1 and without
no doubt the judge said “she is my BOB today”. And so we stayed for the finals,
it was such a pleasure to show Lotta, she moved so well and was selected to the
top 3 and finally gained the third place – BIG3.
The emotions high, we started to drive to the Slovak RR Specialty
( RR entry about 85)
what was held
in Remata (500 km from Maribor), thanx to friendly Austrian policemen we were
able to continue our way and arrived at night in Slovak. Next morning - “rise
and shine” I took my Freddy and went to the ring, RRs were judged by Mrs Karin
van Klaveren from Germany
(Kisangani Kennel). Freddy was once again the youngest junior male, but the
judge liked him and said “excellent male, needs to mature”, what is so right, so
we gained “very good” and stayed to wait Lotta`s performance. All CH bitches
went to the ring in the evening, Lotta
showed again very well, gained
“excellent” even the judge said me personally “excellent bitch” and finally took
the third placement!
Next two days we spent in the mountains of Slovak, we were hiking in the
Low-Tatars and chilled in the High-Tatars (2300 m high). This was one of the
most exciting and interesting trip I ever had
with my dogs.

02.09 - CAC
Padise. What a day! Freddy wins Best in Breed Junior and Best in Breed under
breed specialist Mr Helge Lie (Norway), as our boy has already 3 Jun CC for EST JCH title, we proudly didn`t take CC
this time and it was transferred to the 2nd best junior male (from Latvia).
Freddy was just in such a good mood and showed himself so nicely at the finals
(judged by Mrs Raouli Kantzou from Greece) and ended up as BIG2! Thank you
judges!
critique:
very promising, 11 months, nicely build head, good eyes and ears, nice masculine
expression, good neck and topline, correct ridge, good front, good depth of
body, good bone, well-angulated behind, good coat, good temperament, moved and
showed well
19.08 - Freddy now known as
Estonian Junior Champion and Estonian Junior Winner 2006, gained his titles in
style going BOB Junior
at the Estonian
Winner 2006 show (Crufts 2007 qualifications) in Tallinn. 13 RR`s were judged by Attila Kelemen (RO).
Freddy – exc1, Jun CC, BOB Junior with title
„Estonian Junior Winner 2006“ and qualification to CRUFTS 2007 (once again
we didn`t stay for the finals).
The competition wasn`t tough in bitch class, but all bitches were very different
in type and Lotta just wasn`t Mr Kelemen`s „cup of tea“ – Lotta exc1 in
champion class, BB2 with Res-CACIB.
2 new titles for Freddy within one day – not bad for the beginner!
05.08 - we had a nice day with Freddy at Väimela national show. RR were
judged by Mrs Lilian Hanniste and RR entry was only 3, Freddy was the youngest
RR over there. Our cool tailwagger did so well - jun exc1, BOB Junior and
finally BOB as well (we didn't stay
for the finals)!!! Not a very big win but we all have to start somewhere;)
Back from Denmark with some nice
and not so nice news:
27.07 - breed judge Paul Örnemark (DK) and RR entry 64. Lotta was shown in open
class (17 entries) and gainned 1st prize.
Little Freddy had a very bad experience on Thursday morning being attacked to
his face region by a dog. I still decided to show him, but it was a mistake …
Freddy was in shock, didn`t let the judge to touch him and his movement wasn`t
ok, so we gained 3rd prize. Some hours later was Freddy`s left eye in
such a bad condition, that we had to find a vet
and medicine
for Freddy.
Thank you all people who helped us, Freddy`s eye is ok today,
hope he will recover mentally as
well.
28.07 - breed judge Mr. Morgens Slot Hansen (DK) and entry was 71. Lotta gainned
1st prize and CK placing 4th amongst 19 open class bitches.

Lotta`s day, she was awarded with 1st prize with CK being 2nd amongst 20 open
class bitches and finally taking also Best Bitch-3. Critique: excellent
type, nice head, nice outline, good bone, nice angulation, very nice movements,
nice clean neck, good shoulder, nice coming, excellent condition. Thank
you judge!
30.07 - our judge was Brigitte Thielemann (DK) and breed entry 61. Lotta was
awarded again with 1st prize in open class bitches (18 entries).
