Summary of 2007

December

December 22nd - Emma and Nessa in Russia...;) Great news from Kadri, they`re showing in Pihkva, Russia today:

Emma (WS A Treasure) - jun CC, BOB junior, BOB and BIG3
Nessa (Harjaselän Oliivi)- CC, BB2

                            Nessa and Emma

December 15-16th -
the last show weekend this year with some really nice results ... this time from Valencia double show.
December the 15th -
RR were judge by Jose Barros (Portugal)
Freddy - open exc1, BM1, CC and BOB (pity we couldn`t stay for the finals...)
Lotta - open exc/no placement

December the 16th - RR judged by Joao Serradas (Portugal)
Freddy  - open exc2, BM2, RCC and RCACIB
Lotta - open exc1, BB1, CC, CACIB, BOS
What makes me sad ...some people still thinking over here the ridgeback must be oversized, huge and mastif-look-like-dog and they`re missing the point - RR standard: the emphasis is on agility, elegance and soundness with no tendency towards massiveness.  If we`re adding here the BM1 dog, who went also BOB didn`t let the judge to touch him and even go closer him ...then no more comments:(

                            Freddy-the medal-man;)

And news from Kadri, they drove all the long way to Vilnius, Lithuania. And the results are here:
Emma - jun exc2 on both days
Nessa - (Harjaselän Oliivi) interm exc1 with class CC on Saturday and interm exc4
on Sunday. As much I heard the judging was very political on Sunday ...
Many great picture (from the show and all the dogs) HERE

December the 11th - greetings from handsome Koby (WS AllEyes on ActionMan) :)
Many wonderful pictures of Koby and his friends - Habi (Malozi Habiba) and Habi`s cats HERE
Thank you Baiba!

                                            Koby

December 8-9th - When the last weekend was successful to our boys, then this weekend was full of "girl-power":) Let`s start ...

December the 8th
Alicante CACIB show, what is one of the m
ost prestigious show in Spain this year as the CC from this show is obligatory for getting the title of Spanish Show Champion (tough rules here in Spain;)). RRs were judged by Jaques Dupas (France) and after looking at the names of all the entered RRs ...I hadn`t any high hopes. The judge was TOUGH, focused 100% attention on movements and temperament.
Freddy - won open class males, but as his movements wasn`t great this time (wasn`t in show mood at all, held his head down and was sniffing around), he gainned VG 1.
Seeing the judge`s face after judging Lotta ...hmm I was sure we`re going to gain VG or G, but ...still can`t believe what "happend", he picked us up to the final 4 and let us run ...many rings...and then he showed us the first place ...omg Lotta won it - t
he prestigious CC for ES CH. Well, he said that some other bitches were better than Lotta, but Lotta`s movements was SO beautiful ...hmm I know what he meant - Lotta can move like noone else, this is spectacular, something you must see and I`m so happy Mr Dupas saw it, thank you!
Lotta - open exc1 (out of 10 beutiful RR ladies), CC, BB2, RCACIB
It was nice to meet Christine and Wolfgang Blumberg (Shangani kennels) again, thank you for cheering us and congratulation on your handsome boy`s win.

                            Lotta`s movements;)

December the 9th
And the weekend continues ...Kadri, Emma and Nessa (Harjaselän Oliivi) had a long trip to the specialty show for FCI group 6 to Riga, Latvia. And the results are more than wonderful, RRs were judged by Mrs Natalia Nekroshene (LT), the entry was only 5 this time, but as we all know - judges don`t give anything for free.

Little Emma - junior exc1, Junior CC and Junior BOB. Emma (who had some self-confidence problems last time in Tartu), let the judge to touch her this time and not only ... she was even wagging her tail!!! This is the first junior CC for our A-team:)
Nessa (Harjaselän Oliivi)  - CC and BOB
Way to go girls, I`m SO happy!!! And thank you Kadri and Brit for all the work you have done with Emma, this is amazing.

                                    Emma and Kadri

December the 2nd
CACIB show in Santarem, Portugal
. RRs were judged by Jose Cabral, PT
Freddy - open exc1, BM1, CAC, CACIB, BOB and BIG3 (under Joao Lisboa, PT).
Lotta-  open exc1, BB3, Res CAC (only one step from the CAC ...pity).

Tommy - was shown in a little Match Show in Tartu and he did so well, as Tommy is already 9 months he was compeating in adult class (of course being the youngest adult over there), he won nicely "red ribbon" and was 5th at the finals. I`m very happy of this young boy, he was very confident and behaved well ...even the judge was suprised:) Huge congrats Erle and Tommy, keep up the good work! .

December the 1st
Just take a look at our gorgeous litter twins - Tommy (boy 2) and Saci (boy 1) ...any differences? Tommy`s gallery has been updated with some really nice pics, see HERE

Today we finally met Freddy-Lotta`s son Saci ...oh boy, he is handsome and what a confident and open temper ... this boy will rock the show rings in future!
Saci followed Freddy everywhere, it was really funny to see them together. Thank you Tereza and Simon for giving Saci such a loving home!

Some pictures from today`s walk on the coast of Atlantic ocean (before the heavy rain) HERE

November 18th - CACIB in Jerez, RR judged by Giuseppe Alessandra (IT). Lotta opened her Spanish CC accout. The judge preferred more strong boned and masculine bitches than elegance today, so here is our result:
Lotta  - open exc1, BB2, CC and RCACIB.

November 7th
at the same time it`s snowing in Estonia and handsome Chester having fun:D Pictures HERE

                     Chester and the first snow

November 6th
Pics of Lotta-Freddy in Spain - HERE and HERE

                            Pretty hot over here;)

November 5th
Chester and Emma entered to Tartu CACIB show, RR judged by Morgens Slot Hansen, DK.
They both did well, but were too shy (first indoor-show after all) for getting BOB/BOS puppy placements. More socializing and everything will be ok, the judge liked them both;)
I would love to have been there to help you ... Pictures HERE

Angela and Chester (8 months) in the showring

November 5th
As we live very close to Gibraltar (only 40 km) we decided to go to see these famous wild apes today. See pictures HERE

                                 Aren`t they sweet?

October

October 28th - CACIB in Malaga, Spain - RRs judged

Lotta and Freddy are fine, enjoying the hot weather and sun;)

September

One week in Romania, 2 CACIB Dracula Dog Shows in Targu-Mures

Romania welcomed us with terrible thunder-storm (has Dracula something to deal with it ?!) and crazy traffic (all offers from WRC and F1 are welcome, we`re qualified). Arriving on Thursday, we had enough time for sightseeing and finding a better hotel. Luckily (it took only 30 minutes), we found a nice and new Spa-hotel Apollo, 6 km from Targu-Mures, a real 4 stars paradise for us and Lotta-Freddy! No sightseeing any more, just relaxing in different saunas, pools, salt waters, plus walking with Lotta-Freddy in the mountains.

September the 1st, RRs judged by Stefan Stefik (Slovak)
The show should start at 16.00, but did at 18.00. Believe it or not, it took 2 more hours until our time to shine came, pretty crazy this Dracula stuff:) The judging was odd, no critiques, no standing, darkness …, Freddy did well as usual - first in intermediate class, left some titled dogs behind his back and went BM2, BM1 and BOB went to the CH class winner. Lotta was first in open class (somehow she was entered in open instead of champion) and BB3 (a nice bed to sleep on was in her mind).

Freddy – interm exc1, BM2, CAC, RCACIB
Lotta – open exc1, BB3, CAC

September the 2nd, RRs were judged by Mr Harry Tast (Finland)
Next day and different judge - judging thoroughly with critiques, standing - like it has to be.
Our most handsome Freddy went all the way to BM1 with CACIB, winning over open and champion class winners. Wonderful day! Thank you Judge! Lotta did better than the other day, was BB2 with RCACIB. BB1 and BOB went to the champion class winner from Poland, congrats!

Freddy – interm exc1, BM1, CAC, CACIB, BOS
well developed young dog, excellent type, upstanding and self ... , well shaped head, correct structure true out, excellent tight feet, correct ridge, elastic long movements
Lotta – open exc1, BB2, CAC, RCACIB
Stylish bitch with correct proportions in head and body, correct structure true out, good ridge, good length of stride, but close behind, beautiful handling

The trip was hard (as usual), but worth it! Some pictures here!

Smiling Freddy

September the 1st - Lagedi, EE, judge Rony Doedijns (Holland)
Emma - BOB Puppy
Once again a superb result from Kadri and Emma, keep these BOB`s coming, you`re doing so well!!! Pictures here!

Kadri and Emma showing their best

August

26. 08 CACIB Pihkva RU, judge Mr Zoran Brankovich (Serbia).
Freddy - interm EXC1, CAC, BM2, RCACIB
,
the judge didn`t gave us BM1 place, but after the ring everyone could hear his words "the REAL best ridgeback of the day is sitting over there" showing our Freddy  ... no more comments! New and interesting experience from Russian shows;)

25.08 national show in Väimela, judge T. Ivanova (Russia)
First official show for our 6 months old Emma, Tommy and Chester, we had a lot of fun and nice results as well!
Chester - Puppy 1, BOS Puppy
Tommy - Puppy 1
Emma - Puppy 1, BOB Puppy, was selected to the TOP 10 at BIS Puppy competition. Mega superb result from Kadri and Emma!!!
After the pups was Lotta-Freddy`s turn to show their best -
Freddy - interm exc1, BM1, BOS
Lotta - CH, EXC1, BB2

Big big thank you to dear Angela, Erle and Kadri for showing our puppies, a bit more self confidence and practicing and everything will be just perfect!!!
Pictures here

18.08 CACIB show in Tallinn, a bit "questionable" judging by Mr Stelious Makaritis (Greek) or what else I can say when Lotta and Freddy - so different in type and look - are getting an identical critiques?! Whatever, we did well after all:D

Freddy - (somehow was entered in to open class instead of intermediate), won nicely open class males and ended up as BM2 after CH class winner with R-CACIB. The CC was transferred to BM3 (from Finland) because of Freddy`s young age (we couldn`t accept the CC).
Beautiful type all over, lovely head-expression and proportions of it, very nice neck, well angulated in front and rear, very nice topline, beutiful ribs and chest, good back end, excellent body condition, moves very well.
Lotta - literally slept in the ring, was exc2 in champion bitches and ended up as BB2 with R-CACIB.
Beautiful type all over, lovely head-expression and proportions of it, lovely neck, well angulated, very nice topline, croup and back end, good ribs and chest, in very nice body condition, lovely ridge, moves sound.

12.08 match show in Tallinn. Emma`s first show, she showed so nicely, moved and stood great, but unfortunately the judge didn`t pick up her (preferred long haired dogs). Thank you Kadri SO much for all the work you have done with this sweet girl, I`m so proud of you!!! Pictures here

Emma and Kadri showing their best!

Freddy - interm exc1, RUS CAC, BM2, R-CACIB
(we lost the first place because of Freddy´s behavior, too much "fun")
Lotts - champion exc1, RUS CAC, BB1 CACIB, BOB and BIG (could you believe, Lotta`s pups are only 5 months!!!)

Lotta winning BIG in Kaliningrad RU

And we did so right, it was an amazing trip, we did see ELKS (first time), SNOW and ICE in the mountains (hmm in summer time), magical nature, fjords and waterfalls, Atlantic ocean (too cold for swimming) Pictures HERE

Mega congrats also to Satu and Toya (Bawabu Tekeleza Taraja) on Toya``s BOB and BIG1!

While we were showing in Tallinn, Lotta`s brother Luke (CH Harjaselän Kuningasjätkä) received LV CC at national show in Liepaja, Latvia - new LV and BALT CH. Huge congrats Paula and Luke!

Good boy Freddy posing with rosettes:D

12.05 - Freddy and I were at bloodtracking trial in Vitipalu.
Freddy passed the trial with flying colors last year, but today - everything didn't went as well as I hoped for. We passed both gun shot and obedience parts, but unfortunately we lost the scent. No doubt, the track was hard for us. Plenty of fresh deer prints and the track was hard to follow. And we didn`t get enough points this time.

But the day was great after all, we met little Chester and Mona and all our four puppies had fun playing together again. Thank you all for coming!
Later, Puppy (now known as Tommy) and Emma left to their new homes. All the best my little ones, make your new “parents” happy! Erle, Ants, Kadri and Arne, take care and love your new family member!

29.04 Klaipeda National Show, LT
Superb show news - after a long break of shows, our beloved Freddy did so great - open exc1, CC, BD1, BOB and later at the finals Freddy went Runner Up Best in Group VI!!! WOW
Huge congrats to our friends Kaidi and Peep on their beautiful dachshund Mimi`s success and many thanx for great company as well!

My beautiful and special boy Freddy

10-11.03 Freddy the Daddy was shown at 2xCACIB show in Vilnius, Lithuania and he did great.

Saturday – RR entry 17 and the judge Galina Zhuck from Belorussia.
Freddy – intermediate EXC1 (there was a mess in the ring and we`re missed the Best Dog competition. Not happy to say that I was standing beside the ring with Freddy like a big question mark and didn`t understand the game at all ...)

Sunday - RR entry 17 and the judge Mrs Libushe Ubrova from Czhech.
Freddy – intermediate EXC1, Best Dog 2, CC, Res-CACIB (will be confirmed as CACIB as the CACIB winner received his last CACIB for INT CH on Saturday – thank you Tuija for this info).
And a big thank you to Marian and Valka and their lovely 4 dachshunds Happy, Tessi, Mimi and Milka for great company!!!

                                       Freddy after the show-weekend

15.02 - Nessa and Kadri visited us today! Nessa was invited to Lotta`s "cosy whelping box" and so they talked about "womens stuff"! Thank you Kadri and Nessa for a great day and lovely present!!! Lots of pictures here

Lotta and Nessa talking about 'womens stuff' :D

10.02 - CACIB in Tallinn, I was a bit sad that the Australian judge Mr Steven Seymore was changed to Mr Stelios Makaritis (Greece) at this show, it would have been interesting to see Mr Seymore`s judging of the Australian type RRs. But my very australian Freddy did well and showed well for me (thanx to some show-trainings we had), gained "excellent" in intermediate class and placed as the Best Dog 4! We`re pleased!!! Big hugs to lovely Nessa for opening her junior CC account :D
critique: very nice type and head, lovely neck, ridge and topline, well angulated both ends, excellent coat, moves very well.
