August 1st - 10th - Showing in Finland

It was in May when I and my good friend Marian decided to enter our dogs to some CACIB shows in Finland. Our main goal was to get CC to Freddy and CACIB-CC to dachshund Mimi. Having 5 dogs (Freddy and 4 dachsies - Tessi, Mimi, Ruts and Zorro) in my Chrysler, we headed to Finland.

August 2nd Kuopio CACIB,
RR judge Mr Guy Jeavons (Canada), entry 17
Freddy - open exc1, CC, CACIB, BM1, BOS - what makes him a champion of Finland! I was over the moon:)

August 3rd - Kuopio CACIB,
RR judge Robyn Wallis (Aus), entry 20
Unfortunately the judge preferred different type from our boy. Anyway we had a good laugh reading Freddy`s critique later - lacking forechest and eyes could be darker ... hihiii are we talking about the same Freddy?!
Freddy -
open vg3

As Mimi didn`t get the CACIB in Kuopio, we continued showing in Finland. Well I wasn`t sure about showing Freddy in Tornio as my boy was really tired and "didn`t need anything from the show", but the weather was sunny and nice there, and Freddy in good mood;)
August 10th - Tornio CACIB,
RR judge Mr Igor Selimovic (Croatia)
Freddy - champion exc2, BM2, RCACIB

Thank you Marian and Kaidi for nice company, it`s always pleasure to travel with both of you and your dachsies!

APRIL

April, 12th - Specialty for FCI group VI in Riga, Latvia.

Emma - JCAC, BOS junior and finally ... surprise ... BOS over adult females! Amazingly done dear Kadri and Emma!!! Pictures HERE

April, 5th - Portuguese RR Specialty, judge Rita Kadike-Skadina (LV) - I have shown my dogs in some Specialties in Europe, judged by Sharron Taylor (Usakose RRs, Australia), Karin van Klaveren (Kisangani RRs, Germany), Orit Nevo (Rich Rach RRs, Israel), Janet Wang (Nomvyuyo RRs, RSA) … We have always get a full attention of the judge - complete examining of the dog to make the best decision, that`s why we call these shows Specialty Shows .... but not in Portugal, some really odd things started to happen there.
The show delayed approximately 1,5 hours due to another show (all breed CAC show in next show hall), what was judged … surprise … by our specialty judge. That fact made me suspicious about the quality of Specialty. How can the judge be able to judge Specialty after judging 92 dogs (different breeds)?
Well, about 4 pm the show started and soon it was time for open class males. Freddy was the first, the judge came by, I asked: “should we wait other males in the ring”, she said: “no, we can start” (she was hurry, then I didn`t know the reason) and asked me to show Freddy`s teeth. The judge was friendly, smiled and showed me the proper way of showing teeth, what was, of course a good advice;), then she checked F`s testicles and basically the job was done, no up and down running, no checking the ridge or examining the body or tail. And then …. the organizer run in the ring and said the judge has to finish here and go to judge BIS finals (all breed show, next hall). Unbelievable….they promised 15 minutes, after half an hour I got some info, the Specialty will continue after an hour, the judge is judging group finals and it takes time …jeeeez. Was it 6 pm or even 7 pm (I was totally bored and disappointed and asked myself what the hell I`m doing here), when the judge came back. And we went to the ring again, I was so naïve by hoping the judging will continue normally, but no, time is money … some minutes later she showed me 3 fingers - 3rd place (mark: excellent) …

I could never name that show Specialty and the way of judging proper to Specialty (Specialty judging should be of the highest quality), that`s why I packed my things, took Freddy and Lotta and we said G`bye to Portugal, there was no point to show Lotta there …

MARCH

Our boy from Australia, our Freddy finished his INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION title at the age of 30 months in Torrelavega, Spain by taking Best of Breed and RU Best in Group. Thank you judges for noticing Freddy`s qualities, thank you Mathilda and Werner for nice company and photos!

March 16th – judge Francisco Ruiz Rodriguez (ES)

Freddyopen exc1, BM1, CC, CACIB, BOB, BIG2 = INT CH

Freddy is my very special boy, my first male show-dog, full of surprises, sometimes a real challenge, at the same time the most warmhearted and sweetest dog I have ever seen. Thank you Barbara and Alan for sending Freddy to live with us, so far from Australia!

FEBRUARY

Frebruary 24th - Paneveziz, Lithuania
Emma BOB Junior with JCAC. Very well done Emma and Kadri!

February 20th - HAPPY 1 st BIRTHDAY TO OUR VERY SPECIAL A LITTER!

February 17th - I and Lotta went to Granada CACIB today (and we left Freddy home:), RR were judged by Mr Fransisco Ruiz (ES). We did it - Lotta fulfilled all the obligations for the title of ES CH today, and of course she did it with style by taking Best of Breed
Lotta  - open exc 1, CC, CACIB and BOB = ES CH

It is rather difficult to achieve the title of Spanish Champion, you need much “luck”.
Rules for the ES CH title
4 CAC from minimum 3 judges, at least 1 CAC must be obtained from the “obligatory point show”. Plus one more “excellent” from the other “point show”. And please note - there is only 2 “point shows” in year and a lot of beautiful dogs coming there in hope to get the CC.

We started to show Lotta here in Spain in November 18th, it took only 3 months to close the title ...

November 18th, 2007 - Jerez CACIB - CC, RCACIB
December 8th, 2007 - Alicante CACIB (obligatory for the title of ES CH) - CC, RCACIB
December 16th, 2007 - Valencia CACIB - CC, CACIB
February 2nd, 2008 - Zaragoza CACIB (obligatory for the title of ES CH) - excellent
February 17th, 2008 - Granada CACIB - CC, CACIB

Now Lotta is a champion of 10 different countries, if we`re adding here her INT and BALT CH titles and all her winner titles, Spanish CH title is the 21 official title for Lotta.

My dear friend and companion Lotta

February 9th - Tallinn CACIB
Two of our breedings Chester and Emma were shown at the CACIB show in Tallinn. RRs were judged by Mrs Annuka Paloheimo (Finland). For Chester and Angela it was the first show in junior class, they did well and the judge liked Chester.
Chester - junior exc1, Jun CC, BOB Junior (they didn`t stay for the finals)
Emma wasn`t the judge`s type - junior vg1
Very well done Angela and Chester, don`t give up Kadri and Emma!

Chester (exact copy of Lotta) posing with his trofees

February 2nd - Zaragoza "point show"
We headed up to Zaragoza CACIB (one of the two "point shows" this year) in hope to get obligatory points for the title of ES CH. RRs were judged by Mr Javier Sanchez (ES). It was a long trip, but we took it easy and had time to look around and discover beautiful Spain, it was exciting to stay overningt in the castle-hotel from the 13th of century El Castillo Palacio del Papa Luna.
The show went well, as there were so many very shy dogs, I have to say it is such a pleasure to own a well-behaved and mentally stabile dogs;)

Freddy - open exc1, RCC
Lotta - champion exc2
So both Lotta and Freddy received the "points for the ES CH title":)

JANUARY

Our new "show year" started in sunny Porto, Portugal. Porto is the second biggest city, and the commercial and business centre of this country after Lisbon. One of Portugal's most internationally famous products Port wine, was named after the city because it was originally shipped from the area or, more precisely, from Vila Nova de Gaia, a city just across the river.

The show was one of the biggest this year (in July, there will be another big show in Lisbon), well organized, all the rings were huge and there was a lot of space for dogs and people. And our results are great:

January 19th - PORTO WINNER 2008, RRs were judged by Jorge Goncalves (PT)
Freddy - open exc1, BM1, CC, BOS
Lotta - open vg

January 20th - CACIB, RRs were judged by Horst Kliebenstein (DE)
Freddy - open exc1, BM3, RCC
Lotta - open exc1, BB1, CC, CACIB, BOS
